Your account and backup
How do I get my hours back on a new phone?
Install Improver on the new iPhone and sign in the same way you did before: Apple, Google or the email code, with the same account. The app finds your backup and brings back your goals, sessions, notes and attachments, then opens on Today. Keep the app open until "Bringing back your hours" finishes; it needs a connection.
If the new phone already has goals on it, the app asks which to keep: "Bring back my account's hours" or "Keep this iPhone's hours". Each one says what it replaces.
Is my data backed up automatically?
Yes. Your iPhone is the source of truth and works offline. Changes back up on their own when there's a connection. Settings › Account shows the state, for example "Backed up · 2 min ago" or "3 changes waiting for a connection".
What happens when I sign out?
Signing out clears Improver's data from that phone. Your backup stays in your account, and signing in again restores it.
If you're offline, changes that haven't backed up yet are lost when you sign out. The app tries to back up first and, if anything is still waiting, tells you how many changes and asks before going ahead. If you can, connect and wait for "Backed up" before signing out.
Why do I need an account?
So your hours survive a lost, broken or new phone. The account holds a backup and nothing else: your email, a username, and a copy of what you've logged. See the privacy policy.
I didn't get the email code.
Check spam and any "Promotions" folder, and that the address is spelled right. Codes last ten minutes; ask for a new one if it's older. If you used Sign in with Apple and hid your email, codes and replies go through Apple's relay address.
Can I change my username or email?
You choose both when you set up your account. To change either later, email support@improver.app from the address on the account.
Deleting your account
In the app:
- Open Improver and tap Settings.
- Tap Account, then Delete account.
- Confirm. It can't be undone.
This permanently deletes your account, your username and email, every backed-up goal, session, note, day mark and pause, and every photo, video and voice note you attached, from our servers. Then it clears Improver from that phone. Usage data is anonymous and can't be tied to you, so there's nothing of it to delete.
Don't have the app any more? Email privacy@improver.app from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my Improver account". We'll confirm it's your account, delete it the same way, and reply when it's done.
Deleting the app alone does not delete your account or backup.
Using Improver
How is today's number worked out?
Hours left divided by days left, counting today and the deadline. 60 hours over 30 days is 2h a day. Log 3h today and tomorrow asks for 1h 58m. Log nothing and it asks for 2h 4m. It's worked out fresh every morning, so one big day or one missed day only reshapes the rest.
What's the difference between an hours goal and a days goal?
An hours goal counts time: "100 hours by December 20." A days goal counts the days you show up: "60 days of meditation." For a days goal you mark the day done, and the app tells you whether you're on track to fit the days in before the deadline.
The number got too big. What do I do?
Open the goal and tap the Behind note to adjust the plan. It offers finished choices: move the deadline, do a set amount a day, or aim for a smaller total, each in plain words and one tap. Falling behind doesn't reset anything, and your companion never shrinks.
Does the timer keep running if I lock the phone?
Yes. It keeps counting whether the app is open or not, and shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, where you can pause or stop it. Forgot to stop it? A session is capped at 12h when you save, and you can trim it to what you actually did.
I'm not getting reminders.
Check three places. In the app, Settings › Reminders should be on, and so should the goal's own reminder. In iOS Settings › Notifications › Improver, Allow Notifications should be on. And a Focus mode can silence them; add Improver to its allowed apps.
The widget shows old numbers.
Widgets refresh when you log time and periodically in the background. Opening the app once updates them. If one never updates, check that Background App Refresh is on for Improver in iOS Settings › General › Background App Refresh.
Does it cost anything?
No. Improver is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Is there an Android or web version?
Not yet. Improver is for iPhone first.
